Who we are. andy

ANDY COTTOM. UKCP - CPJA

Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Trauma Counsellor.
I established Westminster Therapy Associates in 2010 to provide counselling and psychotherapy to people living or working in or travelling through Victoria. Finding the right therapist for yourself can be daunting and one of my roles is to help you to choose who might be right for you. Please have a look at each of our profiles below and get in contact with any one of us directly. If you are finding it hard to make a choice, either leave a message on our voicemail at 0207 2337852 or send me an email and we can arrange a brief phone call to help you decide who might be able to assist you with your individual concerns.

I work as a psychotherapist and trauma counsellor myself with considerable experience of working with people who have been impacted by war or violent crime. I travelled extensively in my previous career and lived in both the Middle East and the United States. This experience has led to me being able to enjoy working with clients from all over the world.

If you would like to work with me personally and would like to know more about me please click here to visit my own website. I am happy to speak on the phone but it easiest to either leave a message on 07770 456946 or email me directly..

PRIYA PONNAPPA. BA (London); PG Dip Psych. WPF; FPC

Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

I am a qualified and experienced Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Counsellor. This means that I am interested in trying to understand current struggles in the context of the individual’s life, both past and present. Alongside my clients, I work creatively and collaboratively so that we may together try and understand their current struggles. I am able to offer both ongoing therapy or time-limited, goal focused psychotherapy. In addition to this, I am able to provide CBT interventions for both anxiety and depression.

I have been fortunate to work, for some years, for the leading mental health charity, Mind. During this time, I have worked with a wide variety of people. What never ceases to amaze me is the resilience of the human spirit ; with the right intervention and support, I believe it is possible to bring about positive change in life.

I also have experience of working with people in recovery from drug and alcohol abuse, who are keen to derive more meaning from their lives as they overcome addiction. Another area of interest is in working with people who have attended boarding school and understanding the impact of this experience on peoples’ development and ways of relating.

Who we are. Ness

VANESSA COLE. MA, PG Dip., MBACP

Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor

I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist and counsellor. This means that I have knowledge of a number of different approaches to therapy, and use these to meet the individual needs of my clients. In particular, I draw on contemporary psychoanalysis, attachment theory and theories of the body in psychotherapy. My training and qualification were at The Minster Centre, a leading institute for integrative psychotherapy.

Overall my interest is in helping people to deeply know and understand themselves, and in turn to lead the lives they want. I support my clients in working through life’s challenges, and have particular experience in helping with loss, loneliness and difficulty in relationship. I firmly believe that therapy should be an experience of kindness and acceptance, and these principles are at the heart of my work.

Before becoming a psychotherapist I worked for a large company. I have a good understanding of the stresses and strains of corporate life and of work within other large organisations.

Sessions can run on an open-ended basis or for an agreed number of weeks or months. They can be in person, online, by phone or a combination.

To contact me please email me or call 07940 951945. All calls and messages are treated as confidential.

Who we are. Antoine

ANTOINE GORDON. BA (Hons); MA; PgDip; MBACP

Integrative Psychotherapist

I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist, primarily of psychodynamic orientation and specialising in attachment issues and trauma work. I hold an MA in Psychotherapy & Counselling from Regent’s University London and am a registered member of BACP. I previously worked as a producer in film and television and am especially interested in helping clients unlock their creative potential.
Whatever the issues you wish to explore, I offer an empathic presence that will strengthen your ability to reflect and grow as an individual. My clients often initially come to therapy feeling stuck, isolated, disconnected from their emotions or struggling to find meaning during a new chapter in their life.

My approach is relational, meaning I help clients understand their own patterns of relating to others and how this affects their sense of self. However few options you think you may have, commitment to the therapeutic process can help you understand your suffering, create meaning from your experiences and open the door to new possibilities going forward.
Therapy can be open-ended or short term, in person or online via Zoom/Skype.

Who we are. Simon

SIMON HOLLAND-BROWN. BSc (Hons), MSc, Dip. Couns, MBACP

Integrative Therapist and Counsellor
Therapy is a process that only works when you feel completely at ease with your therapist. Once you feel that relationship works, the possibilities are endless. My aim is not just to help you confront the immediate challenge or fear that has lead you to seek therapy, but to help you understand and grow. Ultimately, I want to help you facilitate lasting change. It’s helpful to talk to someone when times are tough. You may be experiencing relationship problems, feel lost, lack meaning, or are struggling with a particular issue.

It’s important that you find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable developing a relationship. But it’s also crucial that they have the background and qualifications enabling them to offer you the very best support.

I trained at The Minster Centre in a variety of approaches and my role is to adapt them to you, your relationships, your background and your experience. My main focus is on you, the client, as the centre of your own growth. I incorporate psychodynamic, transpersonal, body and existential approaches. I have undertaken additional training in bereavement, online therapy, boarding school syndrome and working with shame.

To find out more about me please visit my website and if you would like to work together, please phone me on 07584 673 628 or email me

Who we are. Thad

THADDEUS HICKMAN. Adv Dip, MA, MBACP

Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist

I’m an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults across a range of specialist areas. My collaborative approach aims to help you explore the issues which concern you, develop an increased understanding of yourself and your experience, and open up new ways of moving forwards.

I have a particular interest in working with people suffering from anxiety, work-related stress, low self-esteem and depression. This is informed by my previous experience working in creative and corporate fields. And now with the workplace profoundly changed by Covid, I also support clients reassessing the role and value of work in their lives.

My relational psychotherapy training underpins my work with relationship issues and relational trauma, where understanding your experience of relationship – often from early childhood – can powerfully reveal what drives your current relationships and their dynamics.

I have also undertaken further training in loss and bereavement counselling, supporting my work with issues of loss (such as job loss), relationship breakdown, and bereavement.

If you have any questions or would like to book an initial consultation, please email me or contact me on 07540 784533. You can also find out more on my website.

Who we are. Bev

BEV REID. BA (HONS), PG Dip, BACP, BPC UKCP,

Psychodynamic Psychotherapist
I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist with a wealth of experience working with people who need help and understanding to navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, burn out, addiction, bereavement and relationship problems.

I offer a safe and confidential space, where together we can begin to think about and make sense of difficult feelings and thoughts which are stopping you moving forward. I work in-person, on the phone or online and offer either once weekly, open ended psychotherapy or time-limited brief therapy consisting of twelve sessions (50 minutes in duration).

Quite often our sense of identity can be very much aligned and entwined with a career, a parental or caring role, an intimate relationship, sexuality, gender and/or a physical sense of one's body and self. And yet identity is forever in flux; it is a dynamic, complex and layered experience which is lived every second of every day. However, when a sense of known identity is lost, challenged, forced to change, wanted to be given up, it can be hard to navigate and understand what may be emerging. It can be a fraught process and I welcome exploring and thinking about this with you.
